FAQs

  • Kombucha is a fermented tea drink.

  • Cruz Kombucha is made with just a few ingredients…filtered water, organic tea, organic cane sugar (for the fermentation process), organic fruits, herbs and other botanicals.

  • Kombucha is a rich source of probiotics and antioxidants. The benefits of kombucha are similar to those of green tea. It can help with digestion, gut health and building immunity. Some report increased energy and enhanced overall health.

  • Sugar is one of the ingredients in kombucha and is mainly used by the SCOBY during the fermentation process. The process ferments out most of the sugar. There are around 4 grams of organic cane sugar per 8oz of our kombucha.

  • Kombucha is tea that has been fermented. We use white and green tea in our base so there is some caffeine. The fermentation process naturally reduces the amount of caffeine. Even people who are sensitive to caffeine can usually drink kombucha. Our rooibos kombucha has the lowest caffeine content of our flavors.

  • Cruz Kombucha has trace amounts of alcohol and is considered non-alcoholic. The alcohol in kombucha comes from the fermentation process but the alcohol content is very low. The trace amounts are similar to what you would find in unpasteurized fruit juice.

  • A SCOBY is a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast and is formed after the fermentation process to form foods and beverages such as kombucha and kimchi.

  • We purchase in bulk from local business, compost our tea leaves, have a Growler Club and encourage everyone to re-use their clean bottles & growlers for refills. We keep our food packaging to a minimum. We continue to find ways to eliminate waste and conserve resources.
